DESTINATIONS
Exploring Croatia was an unforgettable experience. Split, with its blend of ancient architecture and lively waterfront, offered a perfect mix of history and vibrant local life. Dubrovnik’s medieval walls and charming streets made every corner feel like a step back in time. Hvar stood out with its jaw-dropping beaches and warm summer waters, perfect for relaxed island exploration. I also took a memorable day trip to Mostar in Bosnia, where the iconic bridge and the town's unique character had me wishing I had extended my time there. So, whether exploring the ancient cities or diving into the sea, I found Croatia had countless ways of subtly showing off its beauty and made for an extraordinary (and quite honestly, surprising) month.
My summer in Lisbon was more than I could have ever imagined. What felt like a blink of an eye, but was actually a month-long stay, was filled with unforgettable experiences. From the bustling streets to the serene coastline, Portugal will leave you wanting to come back before you've even left. With countless leisurely boat rides, exploring the captivating tile museum, following the sound of fado music, and wandering the Disney-inspired castles of Sintra, each moment added a new layer to my infatuation for this country. I can't wait to go back!
Eritrea is filled with gold, and I'm not being biased here. It's quite literally filled with the mineral in its landscape. Although Eritrea is not known for its gold mines, it very much feels like gold when connecting with its culture and people. Eritrea is my home country, where much of my family lives and where my parents grew up. So my connection with it runs pretty deep. Every time I visit, I find new treasures in moments and lessons, trying my best to hold on to them like a collection of gold jewelry. Here's a how I connected with Eritrea during my most recent trip.
Peru
If it’s not on your list of places to visit, I can’t recommend it enough! Peru is filled with insane scenery, mouth-watering comida (as one of the top destinations for exquisite cuisine), and is home to one of the 7 New Wonders of the World. Though if you're asking me, Peru altogether is a wonder—offering so many attractions that seem unreal. My six-week stay left me in awe. From Huacachina’s desert oasis to swimming in the Amazon River and exploring the marvel that is Machu Picchu, Peru offers immense beauty everywhere you go.
